The Soundweb London BLU-160 is a powerful, open-architecture audio processor designed for sophisticated installed sound systems. Offering configurable I/O, advanced signal processing, and a high-bandwidth, fault-tolerant digital audio bus, the BLU-160 provides the flexibility required for complex audio networking environments.
Fully configurable via HiQnet London Architect, the BLU-160 features an intuitive drag-and-drop interface and a comprehensive library of processing and logic objects, enabling designers to create tailored audio solutions with ease.
Configurable I/O Architecture
The BLU-160 features four modular card slots, each capable of accepting one of six available I/O cards. Every card supports four channels, allowing the system to be precisely configured to match application requirements.
Supported I/O Cards
-
Analog Input Card (with phantom power per channel)
-
Analog Output Card
-
Digital Input Card (AES/EBU & S/PDIF)
-
Digital Output Card (AES/EBU & S/PDIF)
-
AEC Input Card (with phantom power)
-
Telephone Hybrid Card
Analog Input Cards offer software-configurable gain in 6 dB steps up to +48 dB and per-channel phantom power control.
Digital Audio Bus & Networking
At the core of the BLU-160 is a 256-channel, low-latency, fault-tolerant digital audio bus using standard Category 5e cabling, supporting device distances of up to 100 meters.
For extended installations, fiber optic media converters (such as the BSS Audio MC-1) allow distances to exceed 40 km, making the BLU-160 ideal for large venues and campus-wide systems.
Front Panel Monitoring & Control
The front panel provides immediate system insight without requiring a PC:
-
Phantom Power, Sync, Signal Present, and Clip indicators per channel
-
Informative LCD showing device name, type, firmware version, IP address, subnet mask, and system time
-
Bi-directional locate functionality for easy identification within HiQnet London Architect
Control & System Integration
The BLU-160 includes 12 Control Inputs and 6 Logic Outputs, enabling seamless integration with GPIO-compatible devices and third-party control systems.
The Soundweb London Interface Kit, included within HiQnet London Architect, provides comprehensive documentation for integrating the BLU-160 into external control environments.
