The RDL RU-PA40D is a high-performance, high-efficiency stereo audio power amplifier designed for commercial installations requiring clean, reliable amplification for 4 Ω or 8 Ω loudspeakers. Ideal for classrooms, boardrooms, video conferencing systems, retail environments, and small to medium foreground music zones, the RU-PA40D delivers studio-quality sound with flexible control options.
The amplifier features two balanced line-level inputs on detachable terminals and two unbalanced RCA inputs, making it compatible with a wide range of audio sources such as displays, projectors, media players, and DSP outputs. Each channel includes front-panel gain trim to optimize operating levels, while the output impedance is switch-selectable for 4 Ω or 8 Ω speaker loads.
For advanced system control, the RU-PA40D includes a built-in stereo VCA, allowing volume adjustment via an external 10 kΩ potentiometer, 0–10 Vdc control voltage, or RDL remote level controls. This ensures smooth, noise-free level management over long cable runs using standard audio or control wiring.
A switchable summed mono mode is provided for installations where stereo imaging is not feasible. The internal studio-grade compressor/limiter enhances clarity and protects against clipping, producing output levels typically associated with much higher-power amplifiers. A front-panel LED indicates when limiting is active, ensuring optimal performance.
Equipped with Class D amplification, thermal protection, short-circuit protection, and a 24 Vdc power supply (included with RU-PA40D), this rugged module is designed for dependable operation in demanding commercial environments.
