The Middle Atlantic U1 is a 1RU utility rackshelf designed to support non-rackmount equipment in standard 19-inch equipment racks and enclosures. With a 10.75-inch usable depth, the U1 provides a convenient mounting platform for small AV components, network devices, power supplies, converters, interfaces, and other equipment that cannot be mounted directly to standard rack rails.

Constructed from steel with a durable black finish, the U1 is designed for professional AV, audio, broadcast, networking, security, and communications installations where smaller components need to be securely organized within an equipment rack.

1RU Shelf for Non-Rackmount Equipment

Not every component used in a professional AV or network system includes rackmount hardware. The Middle Atlantic U1 provides a simple way to install these devices within a standard 19-inch rack.

The shelf occupies only one rack space (1RU) while providing a 10.75-inch-deep platform for compact equipment and accessories.

It is well suited for supporting equipment such as:

• Network switches and routers
• Modems
• Power supplies
• AV converters and extenders
• Small audio interfaces
• Control-system components
• Wireless system accessories
• Compact electronics and accessories

Steel Construction

The Middle Atlantic U1 features steel construction for reliable support in professional equipment racks.

Its black finish coordinates with other rack components and provides a clean, finished appearance in permanent installations, equipment rooms, studios, AV racks, and network systems.

Compact 1RU Design

Because the U1 occupies only 1RU of rack space, it provides a practical solution when rack space is limited.

The 10.75-inch depth offers room for a variety of compact non-rackmount components without requiring a deeper shelf than necessary.
