The RDL TX-TPR3A is a professional three-pair Format-A audio receiving module designed to receive all three audio pairs—A, B, and C—from an RDL Format-A twisted-pair audio system. Each received audio pair provides both a +4 dBu balanced output and a -10 dBV unbalanced output, giving installers flexible connections to professional and consumer-level audio equipment.
Studio-quality precision active balanced circuitry provides excellent audio performance with low noise, low distortion, high common-mode rejection, and wide frequency response. The TX-TPR3A is well suited for commercial AV, paging, background music, education, hospitality, broadcast, and other installed audio systems using RDL Format-A audio distribution.
Receive All Three RDL Format-A Audio Pairs
The TX-TPR3A receives audio from all three Format-A pairs: A, B, and C. This allows a single module to recover three separate audio signals carried over the twisted-pair cable.
Each audio pair provides two simultaneous output connections:
-
+4 dBu balanced output on a detachable terminal block
-
-10 dBV unbalanced output on an RCA phono jack
With a total of six audio outputs, the TX-TPR3A can interface with a wide variety of mixers, amplifiers, processors, powered loudspeakers, and other audio equipment.
Balanced and Unbalanced Audio Outputs
The TX-TPR3A provides both professional balanced and consumer-level unbalanced outputs for each received Format-A audio pair.
The balanced outputs provide a nominal +4 dBu level with up to +22 dBu maximum output, while the RCA outputs provide a standard -10 dBV unbalanced level.
This dual-output configuration makes the TX-TPR3A especially useful in installations where Format-A signals need to feed different types of downstream audio equipment.
Bridging Input for Multiple Format-A Receivers
The RDL TX-TPR3A features bridging inputs that allow additional receivers to be connected within a Format-A installation.
The module can be connected to the LOOP OUT of another compatible receiver, allowing multiple receiver locations to access audio from the same cable pairs.
Up to 10 receiver outputs per cable pair can be supported, providing flexibility for distributed audio systems requiring the same source at multiple locations.
Local or Remote 24 VDC Power
The TX-TPR3A provides flexible powering options for professional installations.
The receiver can be powered locally from a 24 VDC power supply using either the power jack or detachable terminal block. It can also receive power remotely through the Format-A twisted-pair cable from compatible RDL modules or power inserters.
When locally powered, the TX-TPR3A can also feed power through the RJ45 connection to compatible modules connected to the INPUT.
A blue front-panel LED provides quick confirmation that power is present.
Built-In Wiring Fault Protection
An automatic resetting fuse provides protection against wiring faults in the connected system. This helps protect the module while simplifying installation and troubleshooting.
Combined with RDL's active balanced circuitry, the TX-TPR3A is designed for dependable operation in permanent professional audio installations.
