The SoundTube RS42-EZ is a compact 4-inch pendant loudspeaker designed for background music, paging, and voice reproduction in commercial spaces with open or exposed ceilings. Its hanging design provides an attractive alternative to conventional ceiling speakers in locations where recessed loudspeakers cannot be installed or where pendant speakers better complement the architecture.

Designed for distributed commercial audio systems, the RS42-EZ combines a 4-inch full-range driver, ported enclosure, wide coverage, and built-in transformer for use with constant-voltage speaker systems.

The white enclosure provides a clean appearance for restaurants, retail spaces, offices, hotels, fitness facilities, and other commercial environments requiring consistent overhead audio coverage.

Designed for Open-Ceiling Applications

The SoundTube RS42-EZ is designed to suspend from the ceiling, making it particularly useful in buildings with open architecture, exposed ceilings, high ceilings, or limited access for recessed loudspeaker installation.

Suspending the loudspeaker closer to the listening area can also help system designers establish more consistent coverage without relying on conventional in-ceiling speakers mounted high above the space.

Its compact enclosure allows multiple RS42-EZ speakers to be distributed throughout a room while maintaining a clean architectural appearance.

4-Inch Full-Range Loudspeaker

At the center of the RS42-EZ is a 4-inch full-range driver designed for both speech and music reproduction.

This makes the speaker suitable for commercial systems that need to handle a combination of:

Background music
Paging
Announcements
General program audio
Voice reproduction

The full-range design also keeps the enclosure compact, an advantage in installations where the loudspeaker will remain visible.

Ported Enclosure for Improved Low-Frequency Response

The RS42-EZ uses a ported enclosure to extend low-frequency performance beyond what would typically be expected from a small sealed pendant loudspeaker.

This provides fuller reproduction of background music while maintaining the compact size needed for architectural commercial installations.

Wide Coverage for Distributed Audio

The RS42-EZ is designed to provide broad, even dispersion, allowing multiple speakers to be spaced throughout a commercial space to create consistent audio coverage.

Wide dispersion is particularly useful for background music and paging systems where the objective is uniform sound throughout the listening area rather than high output concentrated in a narrow area.

25V, 70.7V and 100V Distributed Audio

An integrated transformer allows the SoundTube RS42-EZ to be incorporated into 25V, 70.7V, and 100V constant-voltage speaker systems.

Multiple transformer tap settings give installers flexibility when balancing individual speaker output against the available amplifier power and the number of loudspeakers connected to a distributed speaker circuit.

This makes the RS42-EZ suitable for both small commercial systems and larger installations using multiple pendant speakers.

Pendant Mounting for Fast Installation

The RS42-EZ includes hanging hardware for suspended installation, eliminating the need to source a separate mounting solution for typical pendant applications.

This mounting method works particularly well in commercial spaces with exposed structure, open ceilings, and modern architectural designs.

Why Choose the SoundTube RS42-EZ?

The RS42-EZ provides a practical solution when an audio system requires the coverage of an overhead loudspeaker but the building design makes conventional recessed ceiling speakers undesirable or impractical.

Its combination of a compact pendant enclosure, full-range driver, wide coverage, ported design, and constant-voltage transformer makes it particularly suited to distributed commercial audio systems where both appearance and consistent coverage are important.
